Hague: Prosecution to submit documents from meeting bewteen Arbour-Clark About Holbrook/Karadzic Agreemtn for Immpunity
Hague: Prosecution to submit documents from meeting between Arbour-Clark ImageThe Hague Tribunal ordered the Prosecution to hand over to Radovan Karadzic all reports and transcripts from the meeting of former Chief Prosecutor Louis Arbour and US General Wesley Clark mentioning Karadzic’s alleged agreement with US diplomat Richard Holbrook. At that meeting in the NATO seat, Clark allegedly mentioned Karadzic’s agreement with Holbrook from 1996, according to which he was offered to withdraw from public life in exchange for immunity before the Hague Tribunal. The Tribunal ordered the Prosecution to hand over to Karadzic all the documents from that meeting or officially announce that they do not have them. The Prosecution must also confirm that, as they claim, that they already reveal or are about to reveal all transcripts of talks with former RS President Biljana Plavsic and her statements before the Tribunal mentioning the agreement between Karadzic and Holbrook. However, the Trial Chamber denied Karadzic’s request to publish the remaining documents which would confirm that on July 18 and 19 1996, Holbrook promised immunity to Karadzic, with explanation that the defendant did not specifically state his requests. Karadzic is charged with genocide and crimes against humanity during the war in B-H.
