Spain signs for dual satellite system


Spanish Defence Minister Carme Chacon has announced the signing of a new radar-based satellite contract that will put Spain at the forefront of Europe in operating a dual monitoring system. The deal between Hisdesat, which will own and operate the Paz (Peace) satellite, and builder EADS CASA, was witnessed by Chacon on 7 November



Elbit wins avionics work on Brazilian fighter upgrade
Elbit Systems of Israel has been awarded a contract by Embraer to supply the avionics for the Brazilian Air Force (Forca Aerea Brasileira – FAB) AMX A-1A strike aircraft upgrade project, the former company announced on 10 November. The initial development and prototype phase of the contract, which is scheduled to last for approximately two years, is valued at about USD67 million, with the entire contract, including the subsequent production phase, worth in the region of USD187 million
