Arrests in Bulgaria and disbandement of radical Islamic network

Two websites in Bulgaria that were promoting radical and violent Islamic propaganda, closed down after a coordinated police operation.

Four people were arrested in relation to the above, and are charged for propagating ethnic hatred amongst the population . According to “Sofia Morning News” 2 men and 2 women were handed into custody and they were members of the organization “Muslim Union” that was created in Bulgaria in 2006.

The head of this union is named Ali Hairedin and he is connected with a Jordanian national, recently deported from Bulgaria when discovered that he was initiating the creation of a “Muslim brotherhood” branch in the country.

It is interesting to note that the websites had a definite Wahhabi outlook and called for the fight against “infidels” across the world. Moreover they circulated information and broadcasts against the Bulgarian state, called for Jihad and demanded a wide autonomy for all Muslim citizens of Bulgaria that number some 12% of the total population.

One of the arrested women, was proselytized to Islam recently and into the Wahhabi strain in particular.
