The Bulgarian secret service in relation to the EU entrance

According to various sources the Bulgarian secret service (The counter-espionage section), will be responsible for the provision of security in relation to the funds to be received by the EU in 2007. Because of numerous cases of corruption, the Bulgarian administration has decided to involve the secret service in order to assure that cases of curruption will be dealt swiftly. In comparison with other EU fundings such as SAPARD, PHARE AND ISPA; there was no intelligence oversight and a variety of misdoings was reported.

It is assumed that the officials in the European bureucracy in Brussels will be reassured by this Bulgarian action.
