Best Western’s big China expansion plans

BEST Western International has announced that it plans to open 43 new hotels in China by 2009.

Best Western currently has 17 hotels in China, with 12 formal agreements for new development in place, making it the fastest-growing hotel company in the nation. According to Mr William Dong, president and CEO of Best Western China Company, the hotel group aims to have a portfolio of 60 hotels, offering 10,000 rooms, across China by 2009. All properties will be four- and five-star hotels serving the needs of both business and leisure travelers, Mr Dong said.

The Chinese cities to be targeted as part of the growth plan include Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Xi’an, Nanjing, Kunming, the Pearl and Yangzi River Deltas and Baohai Bay.
